NORWOOD – Calling hours for Brian J. Haggett, 67, a resident of 1504 River Road, Norwood, will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 3-7 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. Words of remembrance will be held following the calling hours for the family by James Mason. Mr. Haggett passed away early Monday morning, November 25, 2024 with family at his side at the family farmhouse. Brian is survived by his wife and longtime companion, Lisa; his son, Brian and Kailey Haggett II, Norwood and his four beloved grandchildren, Gabriella, Gianna, Grace and Giorgia. Brian is also survived by six siblings, Ruth and Terry McDougall, Massena; Alta Haggett, Norwood and Seattle, Washington; Robert C. and Elizabeth "Judee" Haggett, Norwood; Carl and Sheila Haggett, Norwood; Mary Ann and Reinhold "Ron" Tischler, Potsdam and Mark Haggett, Tampa, FL; his sister-in-law's, Elaine Haggett, Norwood, Anita Witherell, Norwood; Cindy Hollinger, Winthrop and Wendy Flukey, Grand Junction, CO as well as several nieces and nephews. Brian was pre-deceased by his parents Robert and Olive Haggett, a brother, Leslie "Les", a brother-in-law, Arthur Weaver and a sister-in-law, Marlene (Molly) Bishop. Born in Potsdam, NY on May 9, 1957 to the late Robert E. and Olive Morgan Haggett, Brian graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1975. He worked on the family farm helping his parents out as a child and continued to do so after graduation. He married Lisa Trimm on October 21, 2024 after 41 years of being together, to the day. Brian eventually took over the farm and then started Haggett Excavating in 1992. He loved being outdoors, running equipment, farming and helping others, as he was one of the most giving and selfless people in the community. Brian had a keen eye for the grade when running equipment and was very mechanically inclined, as he could fix or rebuild anything. In his earlier years, he was an avid bowler and he was a past member and Chief of the Norwood Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his tractors, going to the tractor pulls, watching Yankee's baseball and always enjoyed spending time with the family and liked nothing more than to sit down and play a good game of cards at the farm. He loved his German Shepherds, especially "Jager", cherished his four granddaughters and will be deeply missed by many. Memorial donations in Brian's memory can be made to the Norwood Fire Department or the Norfolk Fire Department and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
