Obituary of William J. "Bill" Barlow

KNAPPS STATION—Private services for 75 year old William "Bill" J. Barlow, a resident of 1298 Old Market Road, Norwood, will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in the Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam, NY. Mr. Barlow passed away Monday morning at his home. Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen; Knapp's Station; two daughters, Connie Barlow, Buffalo, NY; Tammy and John Blake, Connecticut; two grandchildren, Coral (Matthew) Dill and Trevor Wilson and four great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by five brothers Lawrence Jr. and companion Patricia Phippen, Ronald (Cathy), Steven (Barbara), Richard (Nancy) and Robert; four sisters Julia (Edward) Bump, Kathleen (Joseph) Kenyon, Marijean (Terry) Remington and Linda (William) White, as well as many special nieces and nephews that truly enjoyed his company and kindness. Bill was pre-deceased by his daughter Rebecca "Becki" Barlow-Pierce just last year; a brother Wayne and a sister Jan. Bill was born in Potsdam, NY on July 25, 1943, the son of Lawrence and Hilda Lawrence Barlow Sr. He graduated from Potsdam Central School and married Kathleen A. Lewis on August 28, 1965. Bill was a self-employed businessman, owning and operating K & B Electronics, which specialized in installation and repair of satellite dishes. Bill was devoted to the business and enjoyed working with and helping others out. Bill was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and was also an accomplished archer, receiving many trophies in his earlier years. He enjoyed going to the local diners to have coffee and eat while visiting with people.
