Hello, my name is Rebecca. I am from the Potsdam area, and I wanted to say to the friends and family of Wendell Barkley, that I am very sorry for your loss. I also wanted to share a little word of encouragement.
There is a lovely scripture that always helped me through difficult times. It's found in Revelation 21:4. It specks of God's promise for the earth and everyone on it. It says, "And he [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Isn't that a beautiful promise? If you would like to learn more about God's future hope, please contact me at carbo96@icloud.com. Thank you for your time.

Dear Jean & Family, Sorry to hear of Wendell's passing. We didn't know Wendell very well, but he must have been quite a guy! As a character in one of his favorite movies would say "He would have been a man to ride the river with!" Sincerely Barb & Clark

Sorry to hear about Wendell . Way back in 1952 we attended the NewYork State Fair . stayed with his aunt for the week end . On the way home we stopped in Watertown and enlisted in the Navy . A few years back we were talking about it and neither of us could remember why we enlisted . Young and foolish I guess , but it all turned out ok .And then there was the bacholar party !!! And the years flew by while we raised our families . Retirement finally came , and friendship brought us together for a few more good times . he will be missed .

my sadness at the news of wendells passing is tempered with the memories of he, jimmy long and I working and just hanging out together many years at the gm plant, mostly the motor room, where Wendell and jim took great pleasure in telling me incredible stories hoping I would bite...guess I did once in a while I was the apprentice to two of the best and I couldn't believe I was actually being paid for being there.
I have missed his commentary and his company these many years since, and I will continue missing him...I am fortunate to have known him.
