I met Gerry at the hospice office when she was volunteering for a mailing.. Her Sunday Rock shirt caused me to ask about who she was and did she know my mother. turns out that Ellen Ola Tucker Simmons is a first cousin. Gerry was so kind and let me take her picture to share with my mother who lives with me. About six months ago Mother wanted to call Gerry to speak with her. Unfortunately I didn't follow through and Mother did not get an opportunity to talk with her.
Since learning of her death Mom has related several stories about your family. In particular she has spoken of your mother and her generosity to her. She recalls the first time she met Gerry and her hopes for a sister and Tommy's hope for a brother.
I am so sorry that Gerry was ill and that you have lost a sister. I regret that I did not help my mother make that contact as it is a great joy for her to know about her extended family. She would love to be in contact with any of the family if that is of interest to you.
