STOCKHOLM—Funeral Services with Military Honors for 53 year old Brian F. Pelletier, a resident of 560 Pleasant Valley Road, will be held Saturday at 12 noon at the First Congregational Church in Norwood with Rev. Walter Smith presiding. Burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood, following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mr. Pelletier passed away early Tuesday morning at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Brian is survived by his wife of 17 years, Donna, Potsdam; his son, Stephen Pelletier, Charlotte, NC; his two step-sons, Eric and Christine Sweet, Norfolk; Garrett Sweet and his fiancé Rosanne Gotham, Norwood; a step-daughter, Joella and Ben Amaro, Potsdam; two grandchildren, Alexis and Caleb Sweet; his mother, Jean Pelletier, Hannawa Falls; his three brothers, Stephen and Gayle Maxim, Norwood; Paul Smith, Anchorage, Alaska; Raymond and Monica Stoddard, Raymondville and his two sisters, Sherry and Scott Mackiel, Spring Hill, FL and Marcia and Alan Bradley, Parishville, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Born in Potsdam, NY on July 2, 1962 to Rene J. and Jean Murray Pelletier, Brian graduated and entered the U.S. Army. Brian served both active duty as well as several years in the reserves. He married Donna M. Wassa on November 14, 1998.
Brian worked as a laborer, employed at the St. Lawrence Seaway in Massena. He was a communicant of the First Congregational Church in Norwood and had a love of the outdoors. He was a member of the St. Lawrence County Trappers Association and the St. Lawrence County Sportsman Federation, where he served on the Board of Directors for both organizations. Brian was also a member of the Ormsby Pond Hunting Club, where he served on the Board of Directors and served as the caretaker for several years. Brian was a strong believer in his 2nd Amendment Right, and was a firearm enthusiast. He also collected rare railroad items, served as a nuisance control officer and was a member of the Norwood American Legion.
