It is so hard to believe we have lost such a role model and advocate for our North Country way of living. I loved being outdoors and seeing him either drive by on his 4 wheeler, working in his yard, or even seeing him in the back "40" when I would be walking or exploring with the dog or Trevor. He loved hunting, trapping, and fishing and just being in the wilderness in general. I remember coming to your house one night and you were eating dinner. Northern Pike that he had caught. You called it your seafood! I am sorry Donna that you have lost your husband. My heart goes out to you and the entire family.... Candy

Having now been retired for nearly 20 years, I will now admit something that I (and teachers in general) are generally reluctant to admit: that yes, we DO have favorites -- students who rise above a sea of faces encountered over a career -- students who impress themselves upon us for a variety of reasons, in a variety of ways.
I have always remembered Brian -- and will continue to do so -- for the clear, untrammeled joy he brought to every encounter. With his broad, genuine smile, his open enthusiasm, he brought sunlight to every day I faced him and his classmates. I dare say he must have brightened their days, too.
Brian came back into my life more recently, and at least until the discovery of his fatal illness, brought the same joy to our contacts. I enjoyed his funny stories, I valued his efforts in our behalf, and found the same open and sincere person I had met those many years ago.
I am so happy that I can encompass Brian, and my acquaintance with him, with a single word: Joy.
Rest in Peace, My Good Friend.

Anybody that knows us will know we are not always politically correct. That being said "Pelican" was a good high school friend. We are sad to hear of his passing. We remember many good times. Hopefully his family may as well.

To Donna and Brian's family, I am so sorry that again one so young is struck down with cancer or other reasons for their passing. Brian gave a strong fight to defeat this terrible disease yet lost. I know he is as they say in a far better place now but words really mean little when it is the one you love. Donna, I wish I could be there at this time but I am in spirit and if you feel a breeze brush you it is me sending all my love and strength to you. I liked Brian he was a great soul mate for you, it was wonderful to see how happy both of you were. Hang on to those memories they are so precious it will keep Brian with you. Cry as much as you want because tears are a healing for your lost soul-mate. Through out the years knowing you I know you are a strong person and this will help you. Please give my condolences to Brian's family and your children. Also Joella for loving both so much that she and her husband moved back home to help out wonderful to know that you and Brian had this loving support.
