COLTONFuneral services with Military and Fireman Honors for 56 year old Timothy M. Thomas, 926 White Birch Lane, Endwell, NY and formerly of Colton will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Patricks Church in Colton with Rev. Msgr. Robert Aucoin presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patricks Cemetery, Colton. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mr. Thomas passed away Thursday evening at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Donna, Endwell, NY and children Raymond, Cole and Sarah; three grandchildren, John, Lilliana and Michael; his mother, Bernice Thomas, Colton; two brothers Ronald and Sharon Gotham, South Colton; Daniel and Kathy Gotham, Seneca Falls; his two sisters, Karen and Roger Butch Murray, Potsdam and Becky Thomas and Amy OBrien, Rochester. Timothy was pre-deceased by his father, Allen and a brother, Martin A. Thomas.
Born in Potsdam, NY on April 10, 1958 to Allen P. and Bernice I. Gorman Thomas, Tim graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School in 1976. Tim entered the U.S Army, and served from 1977 1980 as an intelligence specialist. Upon his return, he continued his education at Clarkson University. He graduated from Clarkson in 1984 with Great Distinction (4.0 GPA) with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Management. Tim has kept close ties with his Alma Mater, serving as a past member of Clarksons Board of Governors, Alumni Council, Class Reunion Activity Chair and Class Campaign Chair. Tim has returned every year since graduating to sing the Alma Mater and National Anthem at Clarkson University events. Since 1984, Tim has held various positions at IBM, Loral and Lockheed Martin Corporation. While at IBM, he served as Senior Contracts Negotiator for Aerospace and Defense projects and as Contract Relations Advisor for the Naval Systems Command. While at Lockheed Martin, he was Program Manager, Business Manager and Senior Business Development Representative. Tim had just recently joined Clarkson Universitys CAMP Program as the new Deputy Director.
Tim also owned and operated a family Christmas Tree farm in Colton, NY on the property held in the Thomas family stewardship for many generations. He was a member of St. Patricks Church in Colton where he often served as soloist and was also a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Endicott, NY. Tim was very active in local and national charities, volunteering for youth mentoring and as a volunteer soloist for many engagements. He was a member of the Colton Fire Department and the Stillwater Hunting Club. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, snowmobiling, hunting and working at the tree farm, but he was devoted to taking care of his mother.
