HANNAWA FALLSFuneral services for 91 year old Catherine I. Bonner, a resident of the Maplewood Campus in Canton and formerly of Hannawa Falls will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patricks Church in Colton with Rev. Msgr. Robert Aucoin presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patricks Cemetery, Colton. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Bonner passed away Friday at the Maplewood Campus in Canton.
Catherine is survived by a son, James and Nancy Bonner, Potsdam; two daughters, Carolyn Gould, Canton and Mrs. Wayne Myrna Scruton, Concord, NC; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and her sister, Barbara Hadley, North Carolina. Catherine was pre-deceased by her daughter Judith Connor, her brothers Clarence, Kenneth, Carlton and her sister Phyllis Knight.
Born in Malone on October 19, 1922 to the late Clarence J. and Almyra Batraw King, she attended Franklin Academy School in Malone. She married Raymond H. Bonner on December 2, 1939. He passed away on October 10, 1996. She was a homemaker and was active with St. Patricks Church in Colton with the Altar and Rosary Society and as a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed making banners for the church and enjoyed bowling in the Potsdam Bowling League and sitting down to a NY Yankees ballgame, as she was an avid fan.
