Catherine ("Bon-Bon" my sister dubbed her, and my family adopted that name for her) was a gem. She and my mother Fern were "next-room neighbors" and ate meals at the same table. It was always a hoot listening to them interact.
I used to see Carolyn almost every day and Judy (? am I right?) when she came up from NC. Never met James, but we must have been at Maplewood at different times. My condolences to all of you.
Your mother never failed to entertain and enlighten. When she recalled stories of her marriage and motherhood, it inspired me, and also made me laugh. Laughter is always a good thing!
One of my favorite stories is of the skateboard in a (can't remember which) department store: Catherine decided to try one in the aisle of the store, much to her daughters' horror, if I recall!
I will remember her as a beautiful and generous lady.
