SOUTH COLTON- Funeral services for 70 year old Elizabeth A. “Betty” Tucker, 83 French Pond Road, South Colton, will be held Thursday January 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the St. Patricks Church in Colton with Rev. Msgr. Robert Aucoin presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patricks Cemetery. Mrs. Tucker passed away Friday evening at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Betty is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas, South Colton; a son, Peter and Missy Tucker, Parishville; her daughters, Cathy and Randy Reed, South Colton; Amy and Jeff Clemo, Colton; Karen and Donald Hamilton, Colton and Niki and Jamie Rutledge, Colton; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Betty was also survived by her brothers, Jimmy and Lisa Buckley, Potsdam; Ronald and Annie Durant, Baldwinsville; her sisters, Alice and Wendell Mattot, FL; Donna and Glenn Arquiett, South Colton; Brenda and Edward Boyce, South Colton; Debbie and Richard Norman, Star Lake; MaryJo Dougherty, NC and several nieces and nephews. Betty was pre-deceased by her daughter, Tamie Wickwire in 2000 and her brothers, David, Johnny, and Richard Buckley. Born in Potsdam, NY on November 14, 1943 to the late Morris and Esther Saunier Buckley, she married Thomas S. Tucker on March 10, 1962. Betty worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Canton Potsdam Hospital in her earlier years and as a cook for 28 years at Colton Pierrpont Central School. Betty was a member of the St. Patricks Church in Colton. She enjoyed camping, spending time on the boat and entertaining her family and friends. Betty also enjoyed crocheting, knitting.
