SOUTH COLTONFuneral services for 92 year old Naomi S. Stowe, a resident of the Maplewood Campus, Canton and formerly of South Colton, will be held Monday at 1 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Patricia Lennox presiding. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Mrs. Stowe passed away Tuesday at the Maplewood Campus.
Naomi is survived by her two sons, David and Barbara Stowe, Baldwinsville, NY and Gregory and Maggie Stowe, Henrico, NC; her three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Eloise Sterling, Heuvelton. Along with her husband, Naomi was pre-deceased by her brother LaVerne Sandford and a sister, Violet Sandford.
Born in Elbridge, NY on August 31, 1921 to the late William and Olive Trexler Sandford, she graduated from high school and attended the Central City Business School in Syracuse, graduating in 1939. She married Donald M. Stowe on July 29, 1945. Donald passed away in 1984. As well as being a homemaker, Naomi worked as a secretary for the Town of Potsdam for a few years and also worked for Jardine Bronze in Baldwinsville. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano and many years, she was a volunteer for Hospice, starting with them in their beginning. Memorial Donations in Naomis memory can be made to the St. Lawrence Valley Hospice or to the United Helpers Maplewood Campus.
