My prayer for Tony's family is that Tony's love lift you and hold you close and give you peace. Knowing that he touched so many lives with that great smile and quick wit should make you smile, too. Softball will not be the same without him. Tony was my favorite umpire!!

Robin and I were both shocked and saddened, hearing of Tony's passing. Ever since we got to know him and the family when we lived next door/well cross lots in the trailer on knappstation(While he was painting the old 72 chevy truck) we looked forward to seeing him on the basketball court or the softball field and getting to chat with him and catch up. I am sure he will be very missed by section 10 and all the kids who he also influenced. Our daughter Meghan (yes the little one Liza loved) had told us more than once, how nice he was and what a great conversation they would have when she was catching and Tony would be the behind the plate ump.
We will always think of him whenever we go to the games.

It is with great sadness that I won't hear hey PECKAWOOD, from Tony again. He always was the one who had the fatherly advice, tone and inspiration. As he started to referee and umpire his passion for sports was definitely seen by anyone at any of the games he officiated. I will always remember playing for the Norfolk FD team and Tony was always there making us laugh and keeping us out of trouble! He was a great man with amazing integrity! Nona and family, I am very sorry for your loss and I will struggle to go to a high school basketball game without thinking about Tony! I am still in shock.
