Obituary of Alice M. Jarrell

NORWOOD—Funeral services for 91 year old Alice M. Jarrell, of the St. Regis Nursing Home and formerly of Norwood, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk with Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Mrs. Jarrell passed away Saturday morning at Massena Memorial Hospital. Alice is survived by two sons; William and Marsha, Massachusetts; Jimmy and Karen, Syracuse; her two daughters, Mrs. Melody LaShomb, Massena; Mrs. Pamela Planty, Louisville; 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Alice was pre-deceased by a daughter, Dawn Bovay, her two brothers, Henry and Wilfred (Buddy) and her four sisters, Florence LaCoss, Evelyn LaCoss, Marion VanGordon and Mary LaCoss. Born in Piercefield, NY on November 23, 1919 to the late William and Eva Gonyou LaCoss, she married Howard Jarrell on April 6, 1941. He passed away in January of 1980. She worked for Ambassador Dry-Cleaners in Norwood. Alice was a communicant of St. Andrew’s Church in Norwood and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
