Dear Rose and Family,
I was very sad to learn of the passing of Robert. I had the opportunity to speak with him (and you Rose) briefly a few years back when I began working on the HATCH family genealogy. Robert's mother, Gertrude was my aunt.
While Robert was not much into the accounting of family history, he did put me in touch with Gerald. I appreciated the time he spent speaking with me. Unfortunately, his insight into the likes of Grandpa Roy and Grandma Mae, as well as others of his childhood are now lost to us. It is just sad to hear that another generation of the line is beginning the process of reuniting with the HATCH ancestors.
You have my sympathy in this time of loss. May the life he shared with you remind you of cherished memories and give you peace. Remember to share these memories with the younger generations, either orally or by writing them down, so his personality and character is not lost over time.
