COLTONFuneral services for 74 year old Phyllis W. Baker, 72 Sunset View Lane, Colton, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patricks Cemetery, Colton. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Sunday from 1-4 pm. Mrs. Baker passed away early Friday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband Phillip W. , Colton; her two sons, Douglas and Tamie Baker, Pittsford, VT and David W. Baker. Phyllis is also survived by her two grandchildren Dana and Morgan Baker and several nieces and nephews, who are all dear to her heart. Phyllis was pre-deceased by her brothers Leslie Williams, Raymond Williams, Robert Williams and her sister Dorothy Johnson.
Born in Canton on October 12, 1936 to the late Perley and Verda Hill Williams, she married Phillip W. Baker on August 18, 1956. She worked as a Salary Personnel Administrator at Central Foundry in Massena for 27 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to working in Massena, she was a secretary at Clarkson University. She was the secretary and treasurer for the Higley Association in Colton, the Social Director for Whispering Palms in Sebastian, Florida, an active member of the Red Hat Society, and an active participant with the General Motors Retiree Association. She loved playing shuffle-board and knitting. Memorial Donations can be made to the Potsdam Animal Shelter, Meals on Wheels or to any Random Acts of Kindness in her memory.
