Dear Joan,Chuck,Jack and Fred, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. She was a wonderful example of a Christian woman to me. She will be missed so very much. We had wonderful times at the cottage by the river. Everyone enjoyed those home-made cookies and donuts! Yum!Yum! I praise the Lord that she is with Jesus and Pop. Some day, we will all be home with our Father, and we will see our loved ones again. She will always be "Mom" to me. Love, and prayers, Jamie

Heaven has in store what thou has lost.
My sincere sympathies to you, Fred, and your brothers Chuck and Jack and sister Joan. What I remember the most about your Mom is her grace and hospitality during those two summers my family and I camped in her backyard on the river on our way to Canada. And, of course, the dominos we all played with her and your dad. My kids still talk about those days on the river with Grampa Morgan and the paddle boat. We often reminisce about the tuba mailbox and definitely they'll never forget about the "maple syrup" bus and the hershey bar tree. Good times, great people. We miss your dad and will miss your mom as you all will. I'm so glad Sharon and I were able to visit with her a few years ago at the living center in Norwood. I will keep your mom, and you and your family in my prayers. ~ Bob

What a long life Rena lived and what a loving family to enjoy all those years.
My memory of Rena goes back to 1994 when Fred and Rena lived on Norwood Pond where the tuba mailbox marked the spot to turn into the driveway. Rena was a loving wife and caregiver for Fred in his last days . It was a joy for me to be a part of those times, caring for Fred and helping Rena in a sad time. Rena has a wonderful family that I have come to know and love. Hurrahs for Rena, she is now with Fred again. Sandy Peck

Cousins Joan, Jack, Chuck, Fred and your families, I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. It seems like only yesterday that our parents lived next to one another, enjoying their homes on the river and the company they provided one another. Over the years I treasured my visits with your Mom and Dad, and in recent years the visits your Mom. They both were amazing people, and it was an incredible gift for me to have been their nephew. Love and hugs to you all. -- Bill

Joan, Chuck, Jack, and Fred,
I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was such a special great-aunt to me. I always loved, while visiting my grandparents Bill and Ethel Matson, going over to visit with Aunt Rena and Uncle Fred. I only wish that I lived closer so that I could have continued to visit her.
God promises us all an eternal place with him in Heaven as long as we accept His Son, Jesus, as our personal Lord and Savior. I know that I'll see her again in eternity!
Please know that all of you and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Deb

Dear Joan,
Very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I can feel you pain. Like you, I lost my dad first and then my mom in October, 2009. So many of their older friends and relatives told us that it was "the end of an era". Please contact me at my email address or by phone (315-764-5919). We ocassionally go through Buffalo and would love to drop in for a quick visit if we are going through during the daytime. It was always a pleasure to work with you at the Massena Public Library.
