HANNAWA FALLS -- Beverley Anne Vienneau, 86, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, in Canton, New York, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's that spanned more than a decade. She was surrounded by the love of her devoted husband and daughters at Maplewood Nursing Home, where she received compassionate care in her final months. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional caregivers who lovingly supported Beverley during the last 19 months of her life.
Born on April 30, 1938, in Doaktown, New Brunswick, Canada, Beverley was the cherished daughter of Albert and Anne McCallum Dickison, the seventh of eight children. Beverley attended the Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph's, in what is now Miramichi, New Brunswick, for her nursing education in 1956. In 1957, she met the love of her life, Lloyd Vienneau, on an ice-skating rink in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Their instant connection blossomed into a beautiful marriage on September 2, 1961, in Toronto, Ontario, that traversed 64 years. Together, they built a family that became Beverley's greatest joy while also owning and operating Lloyd's RV and traveling the world. Beverley and Lloyd became avid golfers together and have been lifelong members of the Potsdam Town and Country Club.
Beverley is deeply missed by her husband Lloyd, her two daughters, April Barnes (David) and Kathy Vienneau; her four grandchildren, Merissa Gagné (Johnathon), Thomas Martin, Katrina Martin, and Danielle Vienneau (Bridgett); and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Camilla, and Livia. Beverley is also survived by five nieces, Paula, Turo, Nova Scotia; Beverly, Calgary, AB; Anne, Halifax, NS; Judy (Richard) Moncton, NB; Linda (Wilfred) Doakton, NB and other nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents and all of her siblings, three sisters and four brothers.
Beverley took immense pride in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She filled their lives with warmth through simple yet profound moments—afternoons spent talking on the deck, going for ice cream or leisurely walks that turned into treasured memories. Beverley will be remembered for her grace and wisdom—always impeccably put together yet never too busy to savor life's small wonders or lend an attentive ear. Her laughter, beautiful smile, and stories brought light to every conversation. In the echoes of those who loved her most are the precious memories of Beverley's unwavering kindness and joy. May her legacy of love endure in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
In her memory, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com . There will be no calling hours and a private service will be held later. A celebration of life will take place this summer. The Buck Funeral Home is serving the family of Beverley A. Vienneau.
