NORWOOD -- Francis "Frankie" Pecora, 78, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, surrounded by the care and comfort of loved ones and the dedicated caregivers at the Pleasant Valley IRA in Norwood, NY, operated by CP of the North Country. Born on February 15, 1946, Frankie lived a life marked by resilience and joy. Francis cherished time spent with his nephew and legal guardian, Jay Pecora. Together, they shared memorable car rides and a bond rooted in shared family history, love, and trust.

Frankie's passion for chocolate cake was legendary and he celebrated the holidays with enthusiasm, relishing the games and treats that came with each occasion. Dining out, visiting local parks, and attending events like the Norwood Concert Series was made possible because of the devoted and hardworking professionals from Pleasant Valley who allowed Frankie to embrace every opportunity to connect with the world around him. Known for his love of fidget toys, hand muffs, and leisurely activities, Frankie enjoyed assembling wooden puzzles and spending quiet moments relaxing in his favorite recliner. His strength and resilience were his hallmarks, as he had overcome numerous health challenges throughout his life and thrived years beyond all expectations. His warmth, humor and unwavering spirit touched all who knew him.

Pre-deceased by his parents Helen (Cimbalo) Pecora and James E. Pecora of Franklin Park, IL, and his brother Jim Pecora of Tinley Park, IL, Francis is survived by his nephew Jay and family Deb Dudley, Izzy, and Luca of Potsdam, NY, niece Sarah Pecora and family Claudia Praglin, Natasha, and Aviva of Berkeley, CA, and his housemates and compassionate staff at Pleasant Valley IRA who became part of Frankie's extended family.
