SOUTH COLTON – Floyd A. Supernault, 90, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Born in Malone, NY on August 28, 1934 to the late Floyd J. and Mable Ashlaw Supernault, Floyd graduated from high school and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was self-employed for many years as an Independent Insurance Adjuster. Floyd was very active in the community and had a passion for helping others. He was a communicant and board member of St. Paul's in South Colton, a Past King Lion for the Canton Lions Club, a member of the Canton Knights of Columbus, an officer of the Potsdam Elks Lodge and a member of the Colton Fire Department and Colton Rescue Squad. He was a founding member of the Skirts and Flirts Square Dance Club and the St. Lawrence County Snowmobile Association (Canton, NY). In the 1970's, the Canton Bakery created a special sandwich roll at his request that they named the "Supie Roll." In his free time, Floyd loved the outdoors… hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing. He enjoyed watching the activities on Higley Flow and taking boat rides. He was especially proud of his carpentry skills and the lovely home he built on the lake.
Floyd loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his two daughters, Shari Worthington, Worcester, MA; Linda and her husband Jerry Caswell, Oxford, MA; his step-children, Byron Lyth and his wife Gail Kemp, Rochester; Susan Lyth, Clayton; his beloved grandchildren, Nikki LaRoche and her partner Adam Shabecoff, and Hannah Caswell and her partner Devin Monteiro. Floyd was pre-deceased by his parents; his wife, Jean Lyth Supernault; and his first wife Carolyn Stone Supernault.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Floyd Supernault, will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Church in South Colton with Rev. Joseph Giroux and Rev. Bryan Stitt presiding. Visitation will be held at St. Paul's Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colton, following the services. Memorial donations in Floyd's memory can be made to the Colton Fire Department or Rescue Squad and memories and condolences for Floyd may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
