NORWOOD – Calling hours for James C. Gotham, 77, a resident of 2 South Main Street, Norwood, will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood from 4-7 pm. Mr. Gotham passed away suddenly Saturday evening, September 7, 2024 in Norwood. James is survived by his two brothers, David and Karen Gotham, Naples, NY and Dan Gotham, Chapel Hill, NC; his beloved nieces and nephews, Julie and Kyle Barry and Jesse and Sara Gotham and one great-niece, Gemma Gotham. James was pre-deceased by his parents, Cyrus and Doris. Born in Potsdam, NY on February 3, 1947 to the late Cyrus C. and Doris C. Jones Gotham, James graduated from Potsdam Central School and furthered his education at SUNY Potsdam and St. John Fisher. James worked as a Rural Postal Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Massena, NY for many years. James was a fun loving gentleman, always enjoying himself with his many interests he had. He was a Licensed Pilot (who currently still had his pilot's license) and also was a Flight Instructor at one time, he enjoyed playing the piano and he loved the outdoors- hunting and fishing. James also enjoyed children, he taught at summer camp for several years and enjoyed spending time with his family. Memorial donations in James's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com.
