SOUTH COLTON— Graveside services with military honors for Charles W. Wright Jr., 75, a resident of 24 Regan Road, South Colton, will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colton with Pastor Steven Smith presiding. Following the services, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Colton AmVets from 11-4 p.m. Mr. Wright passed away early Tuesday morning July 2, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. Charles is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lisa, South Colton; three sons, Charles and Michelle Wright, South Colton and Thomas Wright and his companion Sheri Francis, Hannawa Falls and Daniel "Dan" Regan, Colton. His three daughters, Wanda and Dennis Keleher, West Stockholm; Amy and Chris Mossow, St. Regis Falls and April and Joey Sharlow, Knapps Station; his three brothers, Fredrick "Bubby" Wright, Potsdam; Richard "Ricky" and Shari Wright, South Colton and Terry Wright, South Colton; two sisters, Sandy and Robert Dunning, Colton and Connie and Ralph Randall, Potsdam. He also had several grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he enjoyed spending time with, they were his pride and joy. And many nieces and nephews. Charles was pre-deceased by his parents, a son, Shawn earlier this year, two grandchildren, Skylar Wright and Kienan Wright and a sister-in-law, Roberta Wright. Born in Stockholm, NY on November 8, 1948 to the late William and Genevieve "Susie" Rivers Wright, Charles attended Colton School. Charles served during the Vietnam Conflict in 1968 to 1970. A marriage to Louise Shattuck ended in divorce and Charles later married Lisa Henderson on November 9, 1991. Charles worked for the New York State Parks and Recreation Department, working as the groundskeeper at the Higley Flow State Park for over 26 years until an early retirement in 1998. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and enjoyed playing a lotto ticket every now and then. He enjoyed collecting brass, carpentry, and joy riding around the north country visiting with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the Richard E.
