Josephine Margaret Minchak Obituary

HERMON – A Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine Margaret Meehan Minchak, 93, a resident of 595 West Road, Legacy K Home, in Hermon, and formerly of Henderson Habor, will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Colton with Rev. Joseph Giroux presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Colton following the services. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Mrs. Minchak passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Legacy K Home with family at her side under the care of Hospice.


Margaret is survived by a son, Raymond E. and Jeannie Minchak, Topsham, ME; her daughter, Megan and Raymond Bowdish, Lisbon; her beloved two grandchildren, Rachael and Colin Frost and Maeve Bowdish; a son-in-law Mark O'Berski as well as several nieces and nephews. Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband Raymond J.; a son, Michael Minchak; her three brothers, Edward, Thomas and Mark Meehan and a sister, Mona Reilly.


Born in Suffern, NY on September 16, 1930 to the late Edward and Josephine Creighton Meehan, Margaret graduated from Suffern High School and attended Buffalo State. Margaret married Raymond J. Minchak on May 23, 1953. Raymond passed away on December 19, 2008. Margaret worked at two New Jersey Catholic Schools, teaching Home Economics for several years. She was also a devoted homemaker too. In her free time, Margaret enjoyed reading, playing bridge, visiting with her family, having friends over for a cup of coffee and she loved to go to symphonies.
