PARISHVILLE— It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Barbara K. Scott on Monday, January 15, 2024. Barbara is survived by her loving daughter, Joanne Hazelton (Roland Hazelton), Colton and her two sons, Kenneth Scott, Parishville and Jeffrey Scott (Jan Scott), Niagara Falls. Barbara adored her three beloved grandchildren, Shane (Jennifer Morrill), Shawn Morrill, and Adam Scott and three great-grandchildren, Daphne Morrill, Zoe Morrill and Sarah Buck-Morrill as well as several nieces and nephews. Barbara was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Wayne, a brother, Lynn Kingsley and a sister, Eleanor Parow.
Born in Massena, NY on May 9, 1934 to the late Kenneth and Ethel Moke Kingsley, Barbara graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School and married Wayne C. Scott on April 7, 1961. Barbara worked as a receptionist for Dr. Harry E. Howe in Canton and played a supportive part in Dr. Marta Szoke starting a practice in Potsdam. Barbara and Wayne loved living on the Picketville Road and had many wonderful memories enjoying their grandchildren's lives while they were young and spending time with family throughout the years. Barbara was a talented knitter and often her family members would open gifts with handmade sweaters, blankets, gloves, and hats around the holidays and special occasions. She was a very charitable and selfless person, always helping others in any way she could. Barbara helped with clothing drives, food banks, the Shriners, the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross and the Daily Bread just to name a few. Barbara also enjoyed watching football, golf, and playing bingo
