Obituary of Brian T. Mullaney

HANNAWA FALLS – A Pot Luck Celebration of Life gathering for Brian T. Mullaney, a resident of Grove Street, Hannawa Falls, will be held at the Hounds Haven in Hannawa Falls on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Brian passed away Friday evening, November 10, 2023 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathryn Mullaney, Hannawa Falls; his son Jack Mullaney, Hannawa Falls, grandchildren Quaid and Jensen Mullaney, and their mother Chelsea VanArnam; his daughter, Colleen VanVleet (Philip), Colton, grandchildren Lola Charleson and Benjamin VanVleet; his mother, Eileen Beard, Alplaus, NY; a brother Dennis (Vicki) Mullaney, Northville, NY; two sisters, Elizabeth Walker, Scotia, NY and Kathy Mullaney (Rick Fleming), Alplaus, NY; a sister-in-law, Roxanne Mullaney, Northville, NY as well as many nieces and nephews. Brian was pre-deceased by his father, Dudley Mullaney and most recently, a brother Neil Mullaney. Born in Schenectady, NY on December 25, 1950 to Dudley and Eileen (Doyle) Mullaney, Brian graduated from Niskayuna High School. Brian served in the military for 32 years, most of it in Aeromedical Evacuation deploying to many of the troubled areas of the world, retiring as a Master Sergant in 2010. In civilian life, he was a skilled handyman whose work endeared him to a broad swath of the community. Brian enjoyed waterskiing, terrorizing the neighborhood on his tractors, traveling South in the R.V. where he could sit on the beach and read a book and spending time with his grandchildren. He was known as the "lawn whisperer" as his lawn was the envy of the neighborhood.
