NORWOOD – Denise E. LaPlante, 63, of Foltsbrook Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Herkimer, NY and formerly of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY surrounded by her family. Denise is survived by her parents Frederick and Rita LaPlante, Norwood; one sister, Rochelle LaShomb, Norwood; a niece, Lauren LaShomb, Utica and one nephew, Ryan LaShomb, Norwood as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Denise was pre-deceased by her sister Laureen LaPlante in 1982.

Born in Potsdam, NY on September 29, 1960 to Frederick and Rita Stanford LaPlante, Denise attended Norwood-Norfolk Central School. She enjoyed working with the Step by Step Program and in her free time, enjoyed playing games (especially bingo), crocheting and listening to music. She loved to dance and enjoyed making and receiving phone calls from her family and friends, especially the neighbors she grew up with. Per Denise's wishes, services will be held privately for the family and Denise will be laid to rest next to her sister, Laureen in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood.
