Harold was a mans man, he didnt ask for respect or did he expect it but if you knew him he just deserved it. Harold was one of the men from the legion that held it together. I always enjoyed seeing him there! From one sailor to another “ Fair winds and following seas”. Until we meet again my friend!

Harold was an amazing man who always had a smile and wink to meet me at the goose landing when himself Jim and flossy would come to eat! I always greeted this fine gentlemen with a bud light and a hug. Harold is a true gentlemen and an American hero whoever was lucky enough to meet him will forever remember the hugs cheek kisses and awesome stories.
Thank you Harold for letting me be part of your life and always making my day better by making me smile! You will be missed. My condolences to the entire family, Harold was genuinely a rare form of man and I'll miss him. ❤

I saw a wonderful photo of Mr. Emlaw, in his uniform, at the Norfolk Museum a few months ago. Harold was an honored member of the entire Norfolk community, and a treasured link to the past. When future generations visit the museum, they will see Harold’s picture, and better appreciate the sacrifices made by the Greatest Generation. Mr. Emlaw always gave me a wink as he held the door for me at the post office. I will remember him as a gentleman and American hero. My condolences to Dale, Joanne, Meagan, Brian and Meg, and the rest of the Emlaw family.
