Obituary of Frances S. Babcock

POTSDAM—Graveside services for Frances S. Mackey Babcock, 64, a resident of Munson Street, Potsdam, will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam, with Rev. Joseph Giroux presiding. Frances passed away on October 15, 2023 at her home. Frances is survived by a son, Elton and Sarah Babcock, Clifton Park; her daughter, Brandy Babcock, Norwood; one grandchild, Scarlett Babcock; a brother, Duane Hicken, Norwood and two sisters, Kathy and Reed Graham, TN and Darlene and Robert Emlaw, Norfolk as well as several nieces and nephews. Frances was pre-deceased by her parents, James and Earlene. Born in Potsdam, NY on June 1, 1959 to the late James and Earlene Turner Mackey, Frances graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School. Frances worked at the P&C Grocery Store in Potsdam for several years, working in the deli. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, putting her green thumb to work taking care of flowers and plants, spending sunny days on the beach and having an occasional Bush Latte. Most of all, Frances will be remembered for having a Heart of Gold, always willing to help others. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Potsdam for many years.
