Gloria and Jack, Robert and Lisa, Frank and Julie, Michelle: What a blessing to have had your Mom and Dad in our lives. Despite a distant relationship, we were accepted as if we really were family. Our hearts are filled with memories: Maple street, Ham’s Inn, Little Blue, the camp, Thanksgiving dinners, snowmobiling in Ontario, the visits to Bird’s Creek and Whitney, weddings, piping at Tupper Lake and Maxville. The memories. And David. My American cousin, my mentor, the patriarch and pillar, my friend. Your journey is done. Rest In Peace. Love to all, Karen and Bob Shouldice

Great Cousin David, an honorable service member and great person to have on your side as family. Memories we shared at Camp David are truly unforgettable. Thank you for always lighting the fire and introducing me to your amazing wife Monique. I will never forget the eggs, bacon, and sausage you would greet us with in the morning while looking out over the peaceful lake and joking. Thank you for the campfire stories about the pesky bears destroying your trash cans and family memories you never forget. It was a blessing to see my dad look up to you the way he did and in the same I did. You will be truly missed on earth and I cannot wait to give you a hug when I finally see you again. Thank you for your service and commitment to the country, and the Colbert family. My prayers and condolences go out to family grieving over this immense loss ❤️

Have known David through OES for about 15 years. Always found him to be an honorable man who loved his family dearly especially his wife Monique (she and I called each other cousin as we shared the Kessler name). To Dave’s family; I’m so very sorry for your loss, remember all the good times and live life; Dave would want you to.
