Obituary of Linda L. Vari

NORFOLK—Calling hours for 69 year old Linda L. Vari, a resident of 59 South Main Street, Norfolk, will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk. Graveside prayers will be said at 3 p.m. in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in North Lawrence with Pastor Dave Green presiding. Following the services, there will be a luncheon at the Norfolk American Legion starting at 4 p.m. Linda passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Crouse Hospital in Syracuse surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Linda is survived by her son, Eleck and Julie Vari III and her daughter, Lynette Vari and her fiancé Ronald Agen, all of Norfolk; her beloved seven grandchildren, Brooke, Chontelle, Emily, Marissa, Jordan, Grace and Carter as well as her great-grandson, Theo. Linda is also survived by her sister, Ruth Irish, Norfolk and her brothers Jimmy and Sally Villnave, Norfolk and Ronald Villnave, Syracuse as well as many nieces and nephews and her beloved work family at Smith's Grocery in Norfolk. Linda was pre-deceased by her parents and her fourteen siblings. Born in Massena, NY on February 9, 1950 to the late Carlton and Frances Villnave, Linda married Eleck J. Vari in 1971. The marriage later ended in divorce. Linda worked at Ames in Potsdam for many years and spent the last 37 years working at Al Smith's Grocery in Norfolk where her sense of humor and vibrant personality touched many lives. She enjoyed dancing and singing as well as an occasional trip to the casino, but most of all, loved spending time with her family and friends.
