NORWOOD - Funeral services for 88 year old Pauline J. Smith, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of Norwood, will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Norwood United Methodist Church with Reverend Judith VanKennen and Reverend Casper Green presiding. Calling hours will be held Monday at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Pauline passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the St. Regis Nursing Home.
Pauline is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bernard "Marshall" Smith, Massena and Norwood; her son, Brian and Suzette Smith, Sinclairville; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith, Norwood; her five grandchildren, Ann, Teresa, Rachael, Kristy, and Michael; her six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two brothers, Gerald Cook, Owls Head and Donald and Lynn Cook, Middleport; and her five sisters, Janet and Gordy Cavers, Quebec, Canada, Barbara Belanga, Owls Head, Marjorie Hutchins, Owls Head, Nancy and Ken King, Owls Head, and Peggy and Perry Scott, Owls Head. Pauline is pre-deceased by her son Gerald "Jerry" Smith in 2003 and a brother Douglas Cook.
Born in Malone, NY on November 27, 1930 to the late Meldon and Beatrice Cook, Pauline married Bernard (Marshall) Smith on October 28, 1951. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, United Methodist Women, and the Norwood Golden Agers Club. Pauline enjoyed traveling, crafting, sewing, and making clothes. She was an amazing cake artist, wrote local sympathy cards, and collected salt and pepper shakers and angels.
