MASSENA—A Celebration of Life service for 71 year old Mary J. Woodard, a resident of 39 George Street, will be held at the Massena Church of Christ on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Kashorek presiding. Burial will be held in the Hale Cemetery, Norfolk, NY, in the family lot at a later date. Mary passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Mary is survived by her three sons, Arthur Woodard Jr., Charles and Jessica Woodard and Clark Woodard and his companion Lisa Barclay, all of Massena; her three daughters, Mary and Scott Ashley, Norfolk; Barbara and Troy Kirby, Gouverneur and Lillian Woodard, Massena; several grandchildren, one great-granddaughter as well as her surviving siblings and nieces and nephews. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband, a granddaughter, a brother and a sister. Born in Potsdam, NY on April 9, 1947 as one of twelve children to the late Kenneth and Winifred Jandreau Fredenburg, Mary married Arthur G. Woodard Sr. on September 19, 1964. Art passed away on May 3, 2006. Mary enjoyed spending time gardening and tending to her flowers as well as spending time with her family and going to church.
