Obituary of Theresa M. Vice

NORWOOD—A Mass of Christian Burial for 86 year old Theresa M. Vice, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of Norwood and Potsdam, will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will follow the services in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 3- 6 p.m. Mrs. Vice passed away Thursday evening, November 8, 2018 at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena with her family at her side. Theresa is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert, Massena; two sons, Rodney Vice, Russell and Ross and Linda Vice, Ogdensburg; her two beloved grandchildren, Jessica and Brandon Vice and a sister, Loretta LaFountain, Peru as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, a daughter, Sharon, her four brothers, Wilfred, Lawrence, Alfred, Kenneth and two sisters, Rita Bennett and Mildred Anctil. Born in Moers, NY on January 7, 1932 to the late Benjamin and Ida Barcomb LaFountain, Theresa graduated from High School and attended the Lady of Victoria Business School in Plattsburg. She married Robert Vice on July 4, 1959. Theresa worked many years as a secretary for Bissell's in Plattsburg, NY. Theresa was a communicant of St. Andrew's Church in Norwood and St. Mary's Church in Potsdam. While living in Norwood, Theresa was active with the Altar and Rosary Society and also taught religious education classes. She enjoyed flowers, attending bingo, spending time with her family and hand making rosary's and donating them.
