NORFOLK-- Funeral Services for 68 year old Suzanne M. Serrano, a resident of 783 Lime Hollow Road, Norfolk, will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Mohawk Assembly of God Church, 7 East Church Street, Hogansburg, NY at 1 p.m. with April Bender presiding. Mrs. Serrano passed away on Saturday July 21, 2018 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital with her family at her side. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Jorge, Norfolk; two sons, Mark L. Winters, Ogdensburg and Kirk Bayne Winters, Carlsbad, CA; her mother, Arlene Flack, Brier Hill; two brothers, Steven Flack, also of Brier Hill and Scott and Lisa Flack, Rochester and her sister, Sharlene and Robert Renzi, Watertown as well as several nieces and nephews. Suzanne was pre-deceased by her father, Lloyd Flack.
Born in Potsdam, NY on July 30, 1949 to Lloyd and Arlene Northrup Flack, Suzanne graduated from Madrid-Waddington Central School and attended the Wilfred Beauty Academy in Manhattan. Suzanne also received a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from SUNY Potsdam. A marriage to Terry Winters in June of 1968 ended in divorce and later, Suzanne married Jorge L. Serrano on March 5, 2004. She worked for the J.C. Penny Corporation for many years as a hairdresser and cosmetologist as well as running her own business, Lime Hollow Salon, Gifts and Gallery. She enjoyed traveling and was previously involved with the Sweet Adeline's. She was a tremendous artist and enjoyed painting in which she won several awards for her work. Suzanne also enjoyed photography and was a very Christian woman. All of her life and throughout and in spite of her long battle with cancer, Suzanne touched and inspired the lives of everyone around her. She ran a bible study group for many years and was a member of a prayer group. Suzanne also volunteered her time with Hospice as well.
