NORWOOD—Graveside services for 87 year old Joyce M. O’Brian, a resident of 392 Lakeshore Drive, Norwood, will be held Saturday July 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Brookdale Cemetery with Rev. Richard Lenz presiding.  Mrs. O’Brian passed away early Wednesday morning at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.  Joyce is survived by her two sons, James and Sue O’Brian, Lady Lake, FL; Timothy and Ame O’Brian, Eaton Rapids, MI; a daughter, Mary and Alan Haught, Canton; her seven beloved grandchildren, two great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Bullock, Lockport, NY and Janice and Richard Sargent, Ogdensburg as well as several nieces and nephews.  Joyce was pre-deceased by her husband, John “Jack” on January 4, 2014, a brother, Jackie Puterbaugh and a sister, Sharon Zastrow. Born in Massena, NY on June 23, 1931 to the late John and Pearl McClure Puterbaugh, Joyce married John “Jack” O’Brian on May 7, 1949. Joyce was well known for her cooking and hospitality. She was a homemaker and her home was always filled with friends, family, and love. No one went away hungry! She was an avid Syracuse basketball fan and loved to read and do crossword puzzles.
