NORFOLK-- A Mass of Christian Burial for 92 year old George Molnar, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, NY, will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Andrew J. Amyot presiding. Burial will follow at the Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk. Mr. Molnar passed away on May 3, 2018 at the Massena Memorial Hospital. Calling hours for family and friends will be held at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Monday, May 7 from 6 - 8 p.m.
George was preceded in death by Iva Jean, his wife of 53 years, on November 10, 2012, his six brothers, Steve, Andrew, John, Augustus, Joseph, Francis, and two sisters, Emma Papp and Mary Bregg.
George was born in Norfolk on April 24, 1926, son of John and Magdolna Stutz Molnar. He married Iva Jean Dye on May 23,1959. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He retired from ALCOA in Massena in 1988 after 35+ years as a mill operator and was a member of ALCOA's 25 Year Club. George and Iva Jean were very active in several senior citizen organizations throughout their retirement years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and golf in his spare time.
George is survived by his three children, Jill Molnar, Norfolk NY, George (Michele) Molnar, Westford MA, Benjamin (Christine) Molnar, Romeoville IL, one brother Peter Molnar and five grandchildren (Nichole, Jessica, Emily, Jared and Logan). Memorial donations in George's memory can be made to the Norfolk Rescue Squad or to the Farrar Home, 46 Constable St, Malone NY 12953 and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com.
