SOUTH COLTON—Graveside services for 88 year old Douglas F. Golden, a resident of the United Helpers Riverledge Campus in Ogdensburg and formerly of Cold Brook Drive, South Colton, will be held in the springtime at the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Colton with Rev. Stephen Rocker presiding. Mr. Golden passed away early Thursday morning, March 8, 2018 at the Riverledge Campus. Doug is survived by his good friend, Donald Shoen, South Colton as well as his nieces and nephews. Doug was pre-deceased by his wife Joan in 2016 as well as his brothers and sisters. Born in Rome, NY on June 25, 1929 to the late Arthur and Elma Golden, Doug graduated from High School and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and married Joan T. McAndrew's on June 29, 1957. Doug worked for Bristol-Myers in Syracuse, NY for many years, retiring in 1986 when he and his late wife moved to South Colton. Doug enjoyed his peace and quiet, taking long walks and was considered to be a master carpenter, building many custom and unique items.
