NORFOLK—Graveside services for 96 year old Irene H. Southworth, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of Norfolk, will be held in the spring at the Bixby Cemetery in Norfolk. Irene passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena. Irene is survived by two sisters, Ethel Darabon and Goldie "Cookie" Zappia, both of Norfolk as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband Harold, brothers Alton "Peter" Darabon and Steve Darabon and her sisters Loretta Radel and Mary "Dolly" Harris.
Born in Norfolk, NY on May 4, 1921 to the late Andrew and Bernadine Robinson Darabon, Irene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and playing bingo and attending music events at the St. Regis Nursing Home. The family would like to thank all of the staff at the St. Regis Nursing Home for their loving care of Irene while she was there. Memorial Donations in Irene's memory can be made to the Activities Department at the St. Regis Nursing Home or to a charity of one's choice.
