HANNAWA FALLS – A Funeral Service for 85 year old Margaret C. Thomas, a resident of Hannawa Falls, will be held at the Zion Episcopal Church in Colton with Rev. Pat LaVine presiding, at a date to be announced.  Mrs. Thomas passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Maplewood Campus in Canton.  Burial will be held in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton.  Margaret is survived by her two sons, Robert Thomas Jr., Pulaski; Richard and Liela Thomas, Bainbridge Island, Washington; her four beloved grandchildren, Erik, Ryan, Maddie and Rielly;  a brother, Floyd “Sonny” and Bernice Campbell, South Colton; a sister, Bernice and George Robert, Colton and her sister-in-law, Beverly Campbell, Norwood as well as several nieces and nephews.  Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert H. Thomas who passed away earlier this year on January 21, 2017 and her brother, Robert G. Campbell who passed away on March 4, 2013.

              Born in Colton, NY on August 19, 1932 to the late George and Helen Fisher Campbell, Margaret graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School.  She married Robert H. Thomas on June 5, 1954.  Margaret was a very creative and artistic person.  She enjoyed oil, china barn quilt painting as well as quilting and knitting.  She was active with the Borderline Quilters, the Dessert Quilters, the Episcopal Women’s Guild and the Altar Guild.  Margaret was also a member of the Potsdam Town and Country Club in which she was a member for over 52 years.  Memorial Donations in Margaret’s memory can be made to the Zion Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.  Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
