I am saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Irish. My dog, Nicholas, and I got to know Mr. Irish as a resident of the Highland Nursing Home. Although he could not speak much, Mr. Irish let us know that he loved dogs and enjoyed giving Nicholas a pat on the head during our frequent visits to the nursing home. He always had a smile whenever he recognized us, and Nicholas always knew that here was a real human being who loved animals. Nicholas and I never knew him except at the Nursing Home, but we both saw him as a gentle man. May he rest in peace.
