Our condolences to the Cota family !! Rod will be missed greatly by all and he was a very good man at his job with RB Lawrence. I had the privilege of him taking care of me on a trip to Syracuse and he was excellent at his job and making me comfortable and feeling safe during our trip. He was a great family man and loved his family very much. He will never be forgotten. We also have the privilege of having his daughter, Sara, as our daughter when she married our son who she makes very happy. Much sympathy and love to his family and their loss of a kind and loving man.

Mrs. Cota,
I worked with Rod at RB many times. Rod is a special person
and I was so saddened to hear of his tragic passing. I attended the funeral at the church in Parishville. Such a fitting eulogy by your son. I am sure there are no words that can sooth the pain of his passing for yourself and your family. I have not worked since 2015 but Rod and I kept in touch, mostly by text during football season, as I liked to banter with him about his Giants. I will miss his wit and wisdom and his big smile. A vey good man too soon gone.

Dear Patsy and Family,
You have been on my mind since I read about the tragic accident. Rod was a peaceful, kind, and selfless man. During my time with you both on the Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad, I learned that not only was Rod fun and funny, but he could always be counted on when rescue scenes got tough. He was calm, skilled, and compassionate. My heart goes out to you, Patsy. Rod was always the center of your love and attention, as well as that of your family. May the wonderful memories shown in your video bring you peace and contentment during these difficult times. Rod gave his best and much of his life for all those he loved and served. He was an amazing person.

Dear Patsy and family,
I can't think of a better way to eulogize Rod than by thanking the Lord for allowing me to know him. He was such an inspiration and encouragement to me and to our church. The Lord truly blessed us when He gave us Rod. My heart aches thinking how we all have to continue without him. I am challenged by his caring and considerate spirit. I pray that I can be even a fraction of the good samaritan that he was. What a huge heart for the Lord and for people he had. I will never forget him. He will forever be remembered as the Rod of God! May the Lord comfort you and strengthen you and all of us through this. Let's honor Rod's life by impacting others for good and for God as much as possible.

Patsy and family,
It is with a sad heart we express sincere condolences to you and our families with the tragic passing of my dear cousin. As a child, I have many memories spending weekends with my second family, Aunt Eve and kids. Overtime we grew up together and started our own lives. Rod was a very thoughtful and kind person that anyone can approach and truly know you are being listened to. His smile projected his outlook to life..enjoy the moment and the special people around you. We will truly miss him. We know this tragic loss will be hard to put your head around; look to your family and friends for support. Please rest assured, Rod is now in paradise with the many other family and friends.

My deepest condolences go out to Rod's family and friends. I was shocked when I heard the news of his passing, and I still have trouble believing that such a generous and kind soul has been taken from us. It has probably been more than 25 years since I last spoke with Rod, but during my time with the Potsdam Rescue Squad, I was proud to work with him and I considered him both a mentor and a friend. He was a tremendous asset to the entire community, and I'm sure that his loss will be felt keenly throughout the North Country region. I hope that his family can take some small measure of consolation from the knowledge that he touched the lives of many, many people.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your profound loss. Rod was my critical care tech when I was transported to Syracuse a few years ago. He was very compassionate and professional. His kindness and support got me through a very scary trip after suffering a heart attack the day before. I remember him coming in to pick me up and I instantly felt comfort and peace in his presence. It only got better when we realized we were family of sorts. Anyway, please know that my memory of Rod is that he was a kind man; he loved God, his family, his job, and caring for countless others who needed him. He was a kind man with the kindest soul. May you all find comfort and peace in your memories of a wonderful man. Peace to you all.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Rod's family. For right now there's no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection, this is our amazing hope! The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us, keeps us from drowning in overwhelming sadness. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.
