She started her career working at ALCOA in Massena and then went on to work a SUNY Potsdam as a custodian for many years, while all the time she was farming at home. She was a member of the Norfolk Wesleyan Church and Dorothy enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Dorothy found her true enjoyment came with spending time with her family and friends that she made throughout her many years in the community and lately, at the Highland Home in Massena. She was very proud that she authored two books entitled "Thoughts of Long Ago" and "Beyond Trails End". Memorial donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one's choice.
