NORFOLK—A Mass of Christian Burial for 65 year old Faith R. Barney, a resident of 8033 St. Highway 56, Norfolk, will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Ms. Barney passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning at her home.
Faith is survived by her three sons, Steven LaPage, Bristol, NH; John and Lisa LaPage, Franklin, NH and Jason Barney, Endicott, NY. Faith is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and her three brothers, John, Clarence and Tom Barney as well as several nieces and nephews. Born in Potsdam, NY on April 4, 1951 to the late Clarence and Margaret Szabo Barney, Faith worked as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor for the St. Lawrence County Outpatient Program and the Barre Hill Correctional Facility. Faith had also worked in the Detox Department at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Previously, Faith was a teacher at Mater Dei College in Ogdensburg. Faith enjoyed helping others and was a very talented musician and had a passion for music. She has been a longtime organist for local churches, playing for masses, weddings and funerals.
