Obituary of Roger I. Mattice

MADRID—Calling hours for 68 year old Roger I. Mattice, a resident of 171 Pearson Road, Madrid, will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood on Saturday at 9 a.m. Mr. Mattice passed away on Saturday at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Roger is survived by his lifelong companion, Vicky Harper, Madrid; three sons, Edward Mattice, Holmesdale, PA; Patrick "PJ" and his companion Missy Weekes, Madrid; Victor and Ellen Mattice, Newport, NC; his three daughters, Charlotte Mattice, Monticello, NY; Jody Miller and her companion Sean Beaudoin, Colchester, VT; Macenzie and Stephen Curran, Waddington; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, David and Donna Mattice, Morley; Doug Mattice, Parishville; a sister-in-law, Betty Mattice, Morristown as well as several nieces and nephews. Roger was pre-deceased by his parents and a brother, George Mattice. Born on August 27, 1948 to the late Vernon and Martha Babbit Mattice, Roger was a self-employed contractor. He was a past member and chief of the East Branch Fire Department and enjoyed fishing and mowing the lawn.
