Obituary of Susan G. Perry

NORWOOD— A Mass of Christian Burial for 64 year old Susan G. Perry, a resident of 240 River Road, Waddington, and formerly of Norwood, will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Church in Norwood with Msgr. John Murphy and Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mrs. Perry passed away Wednesday afternoon at the home of her daughter with her family at her side. Sue was born March 4, 1952 at the Massena Memorial Hospital, the daughter of Fernand “Fudgie” and Gabrielle Aubin Granger. She graduated from Holy Family in 1970 and attended SUNY Potsdam, graduating in 1973. She married Laurence Perry on June 9, 1973 and he passed away on July 9, 2000. Sue taught at Trinity Catholic School in Massena for 2 years then in 1978 bought Perry’s Big M Supermarket in Norwood, which she ran along with her wonderful staff. Sue is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer and her significant other Keith Bryant, Lyon Mountain, NY and Marisa and Dave Sogoian, Waddington, NY. Sue is also survived by her beloved grandson, Gabe; her father Fernand Granger, Massena; her two brothers Steve and Martha Granger, Massena and Brian Granger, Albany, NY. Sue was pre-deceased by her mother, Gabrielle Granger on July 6, 2015. Sue loved spending time with her family and friends and was usually the life of the party. She was a fun loving, full spirited woman who loved to travel with her family and friends and lived life to the fullest. She was full of adventure and was a faithful, loving daughter, who would spend hours playing cards. She also enjoyed golfing, fishing, jet skiing and reading. Sue was always active in the community and donated to many, many organizations. She served as a trustee for the Norwood Library Association for over 30 years and was a past member of the Norwood Kiwanis Club.
