NORFOLK– Graveside services for 72 year old Richard L. Baynes, of 18 Crabb Street, Norfolk, will be held in Bixby Cemetery in the spring. There will be no calling hours. Mr. Baynes passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Richard is survived by his wife Beverly of Norfolk, a son Thomas and Michele Baynes, East Greenbush, NY and a daughter Wanda Williams of Norfolk. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Rebecca and Justin Williams and a sister Eileen Robert, of Balston Spa, NY and two nieces and three nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents and two sisters, Daphne Hughes and Beverly Crabb. Born in Potsdam on June 11, 1936 to George L. and Pearl King Baynes, he married Beverly Wilson on April 26, 1956. He worked as a shipping clerk for Corning Glass Works in Canton for 32 years, retiring in 1998. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961.
