Obituary of Thelma M. Burrows

NORWOOD—Funeral Services for 91 year old Thelma M. Burrows, a resident of the Maplewood Campus, Canton and formerly of Norwood, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Colin Smith presiding. Burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood, in the spring. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Burrows passed away early Friday morning at the Maplewood Campus. Thelma is survived by two sons, Terry and Betty Burrows, Norwood; Brian and Lisa Burrows, Goffstown, N.H.; her daughter, Brenda and Bruce Stone, Colton; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Thelma was pre-deceased by a son, Scott Burrows and her brother, Ben Childs. Born in Heuvelton, NY on July 6, 1924 to the late Albert Rounds and Hazel Murry, Thelma married Arlen Dale Burrows on May 22, 1948. He passed away on October 1, 2003. Thelma worked for Montgomery Wards in Potsdam in the Catalog Department for 25 years, retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of the Norwood Free Methodist Church and enjoyed knitting and singing. Thelma’s most enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Memorial Donations in Thelma’s memory can be made to the Norwood Free Methodist Church.
