COLTONA Mass of Christian Burial for 83 year old Muriel T. Keener, a resident of 6688 County Rt. 24, Colton, will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Patricks Church in Colton with Rev. Raymond Moreau presiding. Burial will be held in the Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam. Family and friends are invited to call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mrs. Keener passed away Monday, December 28, 2015.
Muriel is survived by her two sons, Joseph Kim Keener, Lisbon; Jack and Stephanie Keener, Eliot, Maine; her two daughters, Catherine and Larry Jenne, Hopkinton and Lorraine Keener, Fayston, VT, her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Muriel is also survived by her brother, Leo and Sandra Villeneuve, Colton and two sisters, Germaine Klecka, Garfield Heights, Ohio , and Lorraine and Reynald Legault, Cornwall, Ontario. Muriel was pre-deceased by her husband Jack on February 3, 1987, and her sisters Rollande Montcalm and Simone Branchaud.
Born on December 17, 1932 in Moose Creek, Ontario, Canada to the late Albert and Sidonia Gibeault Villeneuve, Muriel married Jack W. Keener on August 9, 1954. She worked at Clarkson University as an office manager for 22 years retiring in 1992. Muriel was a member of St. Patricks Church in which she was very active, a member of the Potsdam Country Club and the Colton Senior Citizens.
