NORWOOD-- Graveside services for 66 year old Thomas A. Colbert, a resident of Nebraska and formerly of Norwood, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Norwood with Rev. Patricia Lavine presiding. Calling hours will be held at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Tom was born in Potsdam, NY to Albert and Sadie (Pelo) Colbert on February 28th, 1949. He grew up on a dairy farm until graduation in 1967. He then went to Canton A.T.C. graduating in 1969 with a degree in Animal husbandry. He loved anything to do in the dairy industry. He later found his love for his own company in the dairy field. Meeting with all walks of life, and loved every minute of it, and EVERYONE. He married his old high school girlfriend, Pat, December 3rd, 1976 in Adams, New York, later moving to Nebraska in October 1980. He lived for the game of golf. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, gardening, and working outside. Tom is survived by his wife, Pat, of 38 plus years. His 6 children Robin (Ben) Cheney of Nebraska, Tina Colbert of Indiana, B.J. (April) Cheney of New York, Todd Colbert of Indiana, Tiffany (Eli) Ring of North Carolina, Jamie Kohl (Greg Dempster) of Nebraska. He has 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Sam Colbert and Charlie Colbert of Norwood and a sister Sarah Boyce of Palmyra, N.Y. as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of special friends and colleagues. He was pre-deceased by his parents, one brother, 2 sisters, and 2 infant sons. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
