COLTONFuneral services for 77 year old Paul Edward Watson, County Route 58, Colton and a winter resident of Mulberry, Florida, will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Patricks Church in Colton with Rev. Msgr. Robert Aucoin presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patricks Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mr. Watson passed away Wednesday at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Florida.
Paul is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara, Colton; his three sons, Peter and Pamela, Parish, NY; Timothy and Diane, North Syracuse; Daniel and Maureen, Colton; his ten grandchildren, Carra, Laura, Mary, Justin, Maranda, Emily, Ryan, Brett, Jason, Alysa; his six great-grandchildren and his two brothers Russell and Carol Lee Watson, Rome, and John Watson, Canton. Paul is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Born in Potsdam, NY on April 10, 1937 to the late Llewellyn and Mary Sullivan Watson, he graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School in 1956. He married Barbara Ann Garlough on September 7, 1957. Paul worked for the NYS DOT as an operator for 35 years, retiring in 1992. Mr. Watson was a member of the Potsdam Elks, an exempt member of the Colton Fire Department, where he served for many years and once was an EMT for the department, he was also a past member of the Board of Fire Commissioners. Paul enjoyed golfing, woodworking and was very mechanically inclined. He was also a member of the St. Lawrence Adirondack Region Automobile Club of America and was proud of his 1949 Chevy. Memorial Donations in Pauls memory can be made to the Colton Fire Department or to the St. Patricks Cemetery, Stark Cemetery or Pleasant Mound Cemetery Associations, all of Colton.
