Born in Norfolk on September 20, 1925 to the late Alfred and Mable LaPlante Bond, he married Bessie Gushlaw. He worked at the Norfolk Paper Mill as a millwright and mechanic for most of his life. He enjoyed the spending time in the outdoors, whether it be hunting, four wheeling, tinkering around his barn, working with his tractors or just working in his garden. However, James greatest enjoyment was his Skoal and challenging anyone or everyone to a game of checkers, in which he took great pride and satisfaction in defeating someone by any means. He was also known to be a prankster at heart. He lived up to his name, James Bond and his 007 girls will forever have him in their hearts and will miss him dearly.
